THE 39 STEPS

From July 13-30, 2017, we transformed the Southampton Cultural Center into 1930's England and watched four actors play over 50 characters! A classic Hitchcock film retold with a satirical twist!

With superb direction from Craig George and a fantastic design team including an inspiring projection plot by T.Paul Lowry we came up with a fresh take on an audience favorite.

A NIGHT OF HITCHCOCK

A Talk, a Teaser, and a Screening of "The 39 Steps"

July 2nd, 2017

We put together an exciting evening of programming to gear up for our July production of The 39 Steps. It was an opportunity for the audience to learn more about the legacy of Hitchcock through a talk from a film professor (a film nerd), a snippet of our play, as well as a big screen presentation of the film, thought to be one of the "blueprints" for the modern thriller. It also gave us a chance to say hello to some of the Southampton community before we put on our show!

MURDER MYSTERY PARTY!

Opening Night Murder Mystery Party

July 15th, 2017

We figured, why keep all the fun onstage? Why not bring our friends into the wide world of mystery and intrigue?! We hired an auxiliary cast composed of friends and fans and they led an audience through a Hollywood whodunit after our opening night performance! With generous donations from local businesses we had a great spread of food and gifts to parse out through a silent auction. We couldn't have enjoyed are time in Southampton this summer more and that's all thanks to a little help from our friends and family. And yes, Ian, that is a Beatles reference.

After our show we had a talkback with two of the original producers of The 39 Steps'  Broadway run. An incredible thrill to hear about their experience producing one of the most successful runs on The Great White Way.
